Google pays Apple $1B

Secret court documents are revealing some details that Apple (AAPL) and Google (GOOGL) would prefer remain hidden. The news stems from a suit between Oracle (ORCL) and Google, and the document in question disappeared from the Internet docket without a trace. Anyway, it disclosed that Google paid Apple a billion dollars to keep its search bar front and center on the iPhone.

JPMorgan Chase tells employees to relax

JPMorgan Chase (JPM) is telling its investment bankers, “Enjoy your weekend! Don’t work! Relax!” The new initiative is called “Pencils Down” and aims to reduce burnout in a business in which 100-hour workweeks are common.

Hyperloop moves forward

This could be a monumental year in transportation. Executives from the two tech firms trying to build the hyperloop train that could transport commuters at 800 mph say they are moving closer to the idea first proposed by Tesla (TSLA) and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.
